Do you charge by the hour?

What is Backflow?

Backflow is the unwanted reverse flow of water that can allow contaminants to enter the potable water supply.

Why is backflow testing required?

Many water authorities require routine testing because backflow preventers can fail over time. Annual testing helps verify the assembly is working and helps protect the public water system.

How often do I need my backflow preventer tested?

Most assemblies are tested annually, but the exact schedule depends on your water authority and the type of assembly.

What happens during a backflow test?

We:

  • Visually inspect the assembly and test ports

  • Perform a differential pressure test (per the assembly type)

  • Document results and provide/submit the test report as required

Do I need to be home for the test?

Not usually. If the assembly is accessible, you do not need to be present. We recommend being reachable by phone/text in case something needs approval.

How long does a test take?

Most tests take 30–60 minutes, depending on access and assembly type.

Do you submit the test results to the water authority?

Yes, when applicable, we submit the results according to the local authority’s process. (If a specific authority requires the customer to submit, we’ll tell you.)

Do you repair backflow preventers?

Yes. We repair and replace backflow assemblies and common internal parts (checks, relief valves, shutoffs, etc.), then retest as required.

Who typically needs a backflow prevention assembly?

Common examples include:

  • Irrigation/sprinkler systems

  • Commercial properties

  • Fire sprinkler / fire line systems

  • Boilers and certain industrial/process connections

Requirements vary by authority and hazard classification.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We’re licensed through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and insured for work in our service area.
